Paradisus Los Cayos Hotel

The Cuban Keys combine beautiful Caribbean beaches with crystal-clear waters and a seabed of splendid coral reefs, exotic starfish and colorful tropical fish, among many other wonders. The hotel offers 5-star accommodation with a fitness center and a private beach area with fine white sand.

The main objective of the project was the integration of lighting in the open concept. For us, luminaries are not the main element, but they are a differential element of the environment. Therefore, it was necessary to create lighting harmony between exterior and interior parts of the hotel. For this purpose, a wide range of luminaires of different designs and styles were created to complement each other. These luminaires had to be fully adapted to the different spaces of the hotel (common areas, restaurants, rooms, suites, etc.) keeping an eye on characteristics and needs of each area.

One of our main concerns about this project was that the lamps placed outside would be able to cope with the island’s harsh tropical climate. To this end, at García Requejo we have developed the Transfer surface finish with the aim of developing a new generation (with high functional and aesthetic added value) of outdoor furniture and lighting.

Transfer surface finish provides anti-corrosive properties on materials such as iron or stainless steel. It improves resistance to wear and prevents appearance of color degradation phenomena (yellowing).

Regarding the environment, Transfer finish contributes to reduction of environmental impact in the outdoor lighting sector by extending the products lifetime in abrasive environments.

Finally, one of the main advantages of the Transfer finishing is the ability to create almost any pattern on surfaces of materials such as wood, metal, plastic, carbon fiber, iron, aluminum, stone, ceramic or plaster. Thanks to this, hotel guests enjoy the paradise that surrounds them both day and night due to an outdoor camouflaged lighting with the environment.
