I + D + i from the CDTI (Center for Industrial Technological Development)

The objective is to develop a new generation of outdoor furniture and lighting solutions with high added functional and aesthetic value, through the application of Transfert (surface finish) with anticorrosion properties and resistance to wear and impact.

Advantage

  • It’s economic
  • Has no traditional printing problems
  • Long lasting patterns
  • Can be re-stamped
  • You can decorate almost everything

Materials – Apply

  • Wood • Metal • Plastic • Carbon fiber • Iron • Aluminum • Stone • Ceramic • Paste

The specific technical objectives derived from the above are:

Obtain new solutions for the protection of different types of base materials, both metallic (iron, stainless steel) and non-metallic (special high hardness and resistance plasters, wood), which report:

Eliminate the corrosion problems that currently occur in coatings applied on materials such as iron or stainless steel.

Prevent the appearance of color degradation phenomena (yellowing).

Improve by 50% the resistance against wear of surface finishes.

The environmental objectives of the project are:

Study the environmental impact of the process, analyzing raw materials, additives, waste generation in the production process, throughout its life cycle, including recycling or reuse.

Study the feasibility of a serial production process, in terms of energy efficiency.

Contribute to the reduction of the environmental impact in the outdoor lighting sector, by extending the useful life of products in priority environments of the RIS3 strategy of Castilla y León, especially by updating the thematic priorities for the 2018-2020 period1.

Thus, specifically, the GR_TRANSFER project is aligned with the priority “Manufacturing and processing technologies, especially in transport sectors such as automotive and aeronautics, making materials and components the keys to leadership and sustainability”.
