The Cuban capital prepares to celebrate the 500th anniversary of its founding this 16th of November. Havana is a colourful, cultural and musical city full of boulevards where visitors can enjoy one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Five centuries of history since the founding of the city. A city that in the first few years was characterized by growing enriched with people coming from several origins such as Spain, China, Africa…
To talk about Havana is to talk about music inspired in Andalusia, Haiti, Africa and New Orleans. The city is a witness of the influence of Celia Cruz, Compay Segundo, Bebo Valdés, Bola de Nieve, Buenavista Club Social or La Nueva Trova Cubana.
To think in Havana is to think in its architecture. It is really different from anything you may have seen until now. Colourful and vibrant Spanish colonial-style version buildings.
A lot of Havana architecture follows in fact the baroque style, or at least a version of it. French people also influenced Havana architecture style with a neoclassical tendency. Seriously… Havana is sometimes called the city of columns.
To dream with Cuba is to dream with its gastronomy. Cuban cuisines are a mixture of Spanish, African and Caribbean cuisines. Cuban recipes are a flavour fusion cooked with Caribbean spices.
Our love for this city goes further than a professional relationship, we are so in love with its welcoming people.
That is why we want to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Havana with a special catalogue inspired in the city. A catalogue full of music, architecture and gastronomy which comes to light the next 16th of November. Stay tuned.
